Before you buy a used Garmin Approach S60 / S40 / S12 gps watch

  • Check the crown and face in the photos. Sky marks (scuffs on the top of the head from skying the ball) and paint chips are cosmetic, but a dented crown or a cracked face isn't: never buy those.
  • Ask for the adjustment tool and adapter. Most drivers since about 2010 have an adjustable hosel. The sleeve should be the brand's own, and the tool (wrench) is a nice extra.
  • Match the shaft flex to your swing. Regular suits most club golfers. Stiff only helps above about 95mph driver swing speed. See our shaft flex chart.
  • Pay through eBay. eBay's Money Back Guarantee only covers you if you pay through eBay. Never pay by bank transfer outside it, however good the deal.
