Mizuno irons by year

typical used price, UK

Newer isn't always better value: a model one or two years old often costs half as much as the latest one.

Before you buy a used Mizuno JPX 925 irons

Count the clubs. A 4-PW is 7 clubs, a 5-PW is 6, a 6-PW is 5. That's why we score sets per club: a cheap 6-PW isn't a better deal than a fair 4-PW.
Check the grooves and faces. Look for even wear across the faces. Worn grooves reduce spin, especially on the short irons.
Check the shaft and flex on every club. All the clubs in the set should have the same shaft and flex. Mixed shafts usually mean replaced clubs.
Look for the original grips or recent new ones. A full regrip costs about £60-£100 for a set, so worn grips knock that off the value.
Pay through eBay. eBay's Money Back Guarantee only covers you if you pay through eBay. Never pay by bank transfer outside it, however good the deal.
