Before you buy a used Ping G425 irons
- Count the clubs. A 4-PW is 7 clubs, a 5-PW is 6, a 6-PW is 5. That's why we score sets per club: a cheap 6-PW isn't a better deal than a fair 4-PW.
- Check the grooves and faces. Look for even wear across the faces. Worn grooves reduce spin, especially on the short irons.
- Check the shaft and flex on every club. All the clubs in the set should have the same shaft and flex. Mixed shafts usually mean replaced clubs.
- Look for the original grips or recent new ones. A full regrip costs about £60-£100 for a set, so worn grips knock that off the value.
- Pay through eBay. eBay's Money Back Guarantee only covers you if you pay through eBay. Never pay by bank transfer outside it, however good the deal.
Questions
How much is a used Ping G425 irons worth?
Based on today's eBay UK Buy It Now listings, a used Ping G425 Irons typically costs £530 including postage. That's about £76 a club, which is the fairest way to compare sets of different sizes. These are asking prices, so many sell for less, especially with Best Offer.
When did the Ping G425 irons come out?
The 2021 G425 irons. Its 21 other Ping irons on this site run from 1982 to 2025.
Can I get a left-handed Ping G425 irons?
Yes: there are 6 left-handed listings on eBay UK right now. Choose "Left" under Hand in the filters to see only those.
Is it safe to buy a used Ping G425 irons on eBay?
Usually, if you pay through eBay (the Money Back Guarantee covers you if it arrives not as described) and buy from a seller with plenty of good feedback. Fake ironss do turn up, mostly listed new, cheap and from overseas. We flag low-feedback sellers and anything 40%+ under the typical price.
The Ping G425 Irons second-hand: what to know
The 2021 G425 irons.
The Ping G425 was followed by the Ping G430 Irons (2023), which typically sells for £644 used, and replaced the Ping G410 Irons (2019), typically £400. Buying this one instead of the newer model saves about 18% at today's prices.
What's for sale today
We found 54 listings for the Ping G425 Irons on eBay UK: 1 in excellent condition and 53 used. 6 are left-handed. By shaft flex: 23 regular, 20 stiff, 5 senior and 3 extra stiff.
Set makeups on sale: 5-PW (21), 4-PW (13), 6-PW (8) and 5-SW (5). Shafts: 42 steel and 8 graphite. Used sets work out at about £76 a club, so a 4-PW (7 clubs) at around £530 and a 5-PW (6 clubs) at around £454 are fair prices.
A fair price for a used Ping G425 Irons is around £530 including postage. Anything 10-20% under that from a seller with good feedback is a good buy; 40% or more under is a reason to look very closely at the photos, the seller and the description.
