Which hybrid replaces which iron
Roughly: a 3 hybrid (19-20°) replaces a 3 iron, a 4 hybrid (22°) a 4 iron and a 5 hybrid (25-26°) a 5 iron. Hybrids launch higher and are far more forgiving than long irons, which is why most club golfers carry one or two.
What to check
Look at the face and sole for dents, and check the loft stamped on the sole matches the title. Adjustable hybrids (Titleist, TaylorMade, Ping) need their own brand's sleeve. Hybrids are one of the cheapest clubs to buy second-hand.
